S-Formal Foundations/Linguist

Introduction to mathematical concepts and methods widely used within theoretical linguistics (e.g., Boolean algebras, context free languages, computational complexity).
Topics covered will include foundational topics as well as more recently developed formalizations, which will be decided depending upon student interests.

Intro to Study of Literature

This course examines various strategies of literary representation through a variety of genres, including such traditional literary forms as the novel, lyric poetry, drama, and autobiography, as well as other cultural forms, such as film. Particular attention is given to student writing; students are expected to write a variety of short essays on selected topics. Though the themes of specific sections may vary, all sections seek to introduce students to the terminology of literary and cultural discourse.

Veterinary Parasitology

This course is a study of both internal and external parasites found in veterinary medicine. Areas of concentration include life cycles, pathogenesis, treatment, control, and public health significance of these parasites. The laboratory portion includes both gross and microscopic evaluation, identification, and testing procedures.
