S-I Levantine Arabic III

Levantine Arabic III is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Levantine Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Levantine Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Levantine Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria or the West Bank and to support course work in Middle Eastern and International Studies.

ST-Egyptian Arabic II

Egyptian Arabic II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Egyptian Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Egyptian Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Egyptian Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Egypt and to support course work in Middle Eastern, African and International Studies.

Persian IV

Persian IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Persian. The course teaches Iranian Persian (Farsi). It is also useful for students who want to learn Dari (Persian as spoken in Afghanistan) or Tajik (Persian as spoken in Tajikistan). The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials.

Twi II

Twi II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Twi. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Twi develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ghana and to support course work in African Studies.

Urdu for Urdu-Hindi Spkrs I

Urdu for Hindi-Urdu Speakers I is for advanced speakers of Hindi or Urdu who want to learn to read and write in Urdu. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes individual tutorials. A placement interview is required. The course includes a complete review of Urdu grammar and structure. By the end of the course, students should be able to read in Urdu and be able to compose simple texts such as dialogues and paragraphs in Urdu.

Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Spkrs II

Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Speakers II is for advanced speakers of Hindi or Urdu who want to learn to read and write in Hindi. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes individual tutorials. The course continues the review of Hindi grammar and structure started in Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Speakers I. By the end of the course, students should be able to read in Hindi and be able to compose simple texts such as dialogues and paragraphs in Hindi.

Romanian IV

Romanian IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Romanian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Romanian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Romania or the Republic of Moldova and to support course work in European Studies.

Modern Greek V

Modern Greek V is the first part of a four-part intermediate-level course sequence in Modern Greek. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Greek develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Greece and to support course work in European Studies.

Zulu III

Zulu III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Zulu. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Zulu develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in South Africa and to support course work in African Studies.
