This course focuses on the relationship between religion and politics, at levels both collective (organized religion) and individual (acts of conscience), using assigned films from different cultures as the launching points for exploration. After viewing the assigned film for the week, students will first respond in an online class forum and then come to class for deeper discussion.

Mentored Turkish for Turkish Speakers II is part of the Mentored Language Program administered by the Five College Center for World Languages. The course is designed for students who already have advanced proficiency in spoken Turkish, but want to learn to read and write in the language. The course continues the review of Turkish grammar and structure started in Turkish for Turkish Speakers I. The course format combines independent study with weekly individual tutorials with a Turkish language mentor.
