Political Economy of the Envir

This course addresses environmental protection and environmental degradation, including both pollution and natural resource depletion. In addition to the neoclassical economic question of how scarce resources are allocated among competing ends, this course explores the political economy question of how resources are allocated among competing individuals, groups, and classes. Topics include the goals of environmental policy, globalization, poverty, natural assets, and climate policy.

ST- The Undead Souths

Paying due attention to their affiliations with Francophone and French Creole cultures and mythologies of the Caribbean and the American South, this course will explore representations of the undead, such as zombies, vampires, and related paranormal creatures of the Southern Gothic tradition on film and television.

ST- Skeletal Muscle Biology

This course will provide students with knowledge of multiple aspects of skeletal muscle biology. The material will include information about the basics of muscle contraction, muscle activation and bioenergetics. Laboratory-based opportunities will be used for students to try/experience various techniques commonly used to study muscle function from the molecular to whole muscle levels.

Small Property Design

Using models, students employ the landscape media of land, plants, structures, and water to create landscape space. Real situations with local clients designed. Techniques of interviewing, photographing, site analysis, and design explored.
