Introduction to the history of modern philosophy; emphasis on Descartes, Leibniz, Locke, and Hume. Prerequisite: Two courses in Philosophy. (Gen.Ed. HS)

Introduction to the history of modern philosophy; emphasis on Descartes, Leibniz, Locke, and Hume. Prerequisite: Two courses in Philosophy. (Gen.Ed. HS)

Selected topics in the philosophy of science, such as confirmation, laws, causation, explanation, and scientific realism.

This course is designed to provide audiology graduate students with an understanding of audiology from a public health perspective. Special topics will include readings, lectures, and presentations related to the global burden of disease associated with hearing loss, issues related to access to affordable hearing healthcare, and national priorities for increasing access to care.

Honors Thesis expectations are high. The intended end-product is a traditional research manuscript with accompanying artifact(s), all theses:
- are 6 credits or more of sustained research on a single topic, typically conducted over two semesters.
- begin with creative inquiry and systematic research.
- include documentation of substantive scholarly endeavor.
- culminate in an oral defense or other form of public presentation.
Students registering for an Honors Thesis following Honors Research (499Y) must have the approval of their faculty committee.

Explores how Africans voice themselves and their concerns through theatre/performance. Students will read texts and see performances by and about Africans and will examine them within their sociopolitical/historical contexts.

This graduate level course will revisit and build on the foundations of professional scenic design practice such as dramaturgical and visual research, flexibility of methods and solutions in pursuit of a vision in support of a performance event, creative problem solving, model building, drafting, budgeting, and collaboration skills though actual production assignments in the department. Assignments will be determined by the needs and competence of the individual student. Special attention to portfolio development.
