This course is an introduction to Catalan for students with no prior knowledge of the language. Through a task-based, communicative approach, this course seeks to initiate students into the elements of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Catalan.

An introduction to data management for research projects in the biomedical sciences using microcomputers. Topics include design of data collection forms, data entry, computer managed documentation and statistical computing using SAS.

Students choose a topic on their own under the guidance of a faculty adviser who will then grade the final written report

This course will provide fundamental statistical concepts and tools relevant to the analysis of high-dimensional genomics data arising from population-based association studies. A first-course in statistics is assumed.

Principles of statistics applied to analysis of biological and health data. Continuation of Bioepi 540 including analysis of variance, regression, nonparametric statistics, sampling, and categorical data analysis.

This course is for students who have a passion for communicating about science. We provide training in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) mentoring techniques and in STEM outreach approaches. You have the opportunity to work with small groups of middle school students and inspire them about all things STEM - as you direct their efforts in a STEM research project. You help your students through the entire process of STEM research, from coming up with an idea to communicating their results at a poster session.
