FYS- Grow or Not to Grow

When it's unbearably hot outside, you seek shade underneath a tree or run to the nearest air-conditioned room. But what about that tree? What can it do to beat the heat? It can hardly move out of the sun, or crawl into an air-conditioned room. So, why does the tree appear to be fine on dangerously hot days? How does the tree balance survival, growth, and reproduction? A plant's dilemma! Join me as we explore these questions and more, illuminating the hidden side of plants!

FYS- Climate Change: Hot Mess

Human activity is causing the climate of our planet to change at an unprecedented rate. With all of the information available these days from a variety of sources it can be challenging to cut through the noise and get to the actual science. How do we know what is causing climate change, how does the current situation differ from the past, and what is going to happen in the future?
