S-Prac in Sch Psych Assessment

The purpose of this practicum is to provide students with practicing and supervised training in administering assessments common to the practice of school psychology. Such assessments include cognitive and intellectual assessment, educational and academic assessments, curriculum based assessments and measurement, and social/emotional and behavioral assessments.

Embracing Diversity

This course is about cultural diversity in the University community and how we can better understand ourselves and others through an appreciation of college education as a cultural experience, with its own unique set of rules, biases, and expectations. The course is designed for first year students. (Gen.Ed. I, DU)

HonsThesis-SocValues&PubDecisn

This course will combine readings and methods from philosophy and economics to address ethical questions that are relevant to the goals and evaluation of public policies. These questions include: Should we assess social outcomes, policies and institutions by reference to well-being, fairness, rights, or other criteria? What do these notions consist in and can they be measured? Does well-being consist in happiness, life satisfaction, goal attainment, some combination of these, or something else? Is inequality bad in itself or because of the outcomes to which it leads?

FYS-Economics Behind Our Lives

The Economics Department offers seminars to first-year students building on the College of Social and Behavioral Science's program on becoming a college student. In addition to discussing important topics in independent living, academic success, and using University resources, we add economics content on the general topic of the economics behind our lives. Relevant readings will be drawn from Real World Micro and Real World Macro.
