Important mechanical properties of materials engineering such as yield strength and fracture toughness experimentally investigated with a view towards materials selection and design. Skills emphasized: experimental technique, statistical analysis of data, report writing, and oral presentation. Prerequisites: M&I-ENG 201, 211 and 273. ENGLISH 351 (ENGLISH 351 may be taken concurrently).

Transfer Student Seminar

This seminar is specifically intended to support transfer students from community colleges in the College of Engineering that are S-STEM Fellows. The topics covered will vary based on the needs of the students but will generally include peer and faculty mentoring, academic advising, career awareness, academic skill development, and professional development.
