This course is a continuation of Chinese 127. It is geared for students who have some background in Chinese, and who want to focus on reading and writing.

A beginning course in modern standard Chinese (Mandarin). Introduction to the romanization phonetic system of Chinese (Hanyu pinyin), essential sentence structures, basic vocabulary, and approximately 180 traditional characters. Basic skills in listening, reading, and writing. Content and structure same as first half of CHINESE 126.
