In doing so, you can guess the meaning of a new vocabulary word based on the surrounding context without using a dictionary. This course is designed to help students become effective communicators in Japanese. The course uses the Team Based Learning format, meaning that students will do activities in teams. The first part of the course focuses on two key Japanese social concepts that have had extensive impact on communication: the uchi (inside)/soto (outside) distinction and the hierarchical order.
