Students complete 120 hours or more in an organization of their choice, and engage in critical reflection on their experience. Fieldwork placements identified and arranged by student, and must be approved by department. Fulfills STPEC internship requirement.

Elective internship (does not normally fulfill SPTEC internship requirement). One credit for every 40 hours of work completed in an organization of student's choosing.

Students hone skills necessary to write in the genres that STPEC majors encounter most often in the course of their academic and professional careers. Contact department for details.

This course is designed for those who may be involved in nonprofit organizations at some point in their lives as directors, employees, volunteers, customers, funders, or founders. Students will create, fund, run, and dissolve a virtual 501(c)(3) public charity over the course of the semester, as we learn the opportunities and challenges that nonprofits can face.
