S-Social Resp in Museums

The purpose of this course is to explore how museums are increasing their relevancy in the 21st century by transforming themselves into agencies of social responsibility. Museums have traditionally accepted the values of the cultures that created and organized them, often a century ago, and have limited their collections, messages, and audiences to serve those values.

Global Cities & Global Issues

Cities are dynamic organisms whose inhabitants require food, water, shelter, safety, commerce, leadership, and equity. For most people, the city can be a wonderful place to live in. For persons without privilege, the necessary goods and services that are require for a quality life may be lacking. In this course, students will note that every village, town, city, or mega-city has some type of challenge. By examining cities within a global context, students should recognize that any challenge can also be viewed as an opportunity for implementing positive change.

Beg Equitation I

For those with no previous riding experience or formal instruction. Grooming, bridling, and saddling and other basic stable skills; walk, trot (sitting and rising), and canter. Basic riding theory introduced.

Strategic planning refers to a process by which an organization maps its future by trying to understand its present and future environments, along with its internal strengths and weaknesses. The process is one of learning and is built heavily upon the analysis of an organization's future external opportunities and threats, and current internal capabilities to influence those external factors. Strategic planning and analysis has become an essential management function within the health service industry.
