Weekly meetings to discuss supplemental readings of primary historical and literary documents of various kinds. In-depth research paper concerning topic agreed upon with instructor. Contact department for description.
Small group of students will explore a craft/topic separate from those in the class as a student-driven learning experience. This makes the work separate from class, where the instructor curates topics. In this colloquium, topics are discovered at need by students exploring a separate creative activity and posing scientific questions about the processes, materials, and tools of that activity.
Readings in the original language (or in certain cases translations) of literary texts read in or closely related to a course taken with a faculty member appointed in comparative literature. Students are encouraged to contact the instructor during the prior semester. Instructor permission required.
