INTERMEDIATE SPANISH
The chief goals of the course are to expand vocabulary and conversational skills, strengthen grammar, and learn about key social, cultural and historical issues of the Spanish-speaking world. Vocabulary and grammar are taught within the context of the specific themes chosen to enhance students' familiarity with the "realities" of Spanish-speaking countries. Prerequisite: SPN 112y, 120 or the equivalent.

CHM II:ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
An introduction to the theory and practice of organic chemistry. The course focuses on structure, nomenclature, physical and chemical properties of organic compounds and infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy for structural analysis. Reactions of carbonyl compounds and alkenes are studied in depth. Prerequisite: 111 or 118. Enrollment limited to 16 per lab section. Lecture and lab registration by wait-list only.
