Honors Colloq/LEGAL 494DI

This honors section of Environmental and Public Policy Dispute Resolution provides students with the opportunity to participate throughout the semester in a seminar setting for more in depth discussions analyzing specific disputes and mechanisms for their resolution. Students will undertake independent research on particular mechanisms or cases decided in conjunction with the instructor and classmates will explore together the implications of their collective findings.

Environmental Justice (colloq)

This course provides an exploration of the environmental justice (EJ) movement.
Central to our study is an examination of environmental degradation, inequality in exposure to pollution in relationship to racism and poverty, and globalization's effect on international environmental injustices. We will critically analyze the role of grassroots activism, the law, and alternative dispute resolution methods used to redress environmental injustices.Coursework relies on relevant interdisciplinary scholarship, case studies, and engaged in class simulations.

ST- Peeking/Fence Construction

This course provides a close contact with an on-going real construction project, which is also the future home of Building and Construction Technology. In this class, it offers you a unique opportunity to peek over the fence of its construction sites. No traditional lecture will be given in this class. Instead, it includes site visits showing site organization and work activities; roundtable discussion clarifying any question related to a construction process; and guest speakers presenting topics about Project Management, Building Information Modeling, Safety, Subcontractors, etc.
