The 20th century in Italy is often referred to as "the century of periodicals". This is due to the lively cultural debate that took place on dozens of literary periodicals that sprung up all over the Nation. Evidently, this was the result of the urgent need felt by intellectuals, often young and highly engaged, to create new opportunities outside the formal academic context to share ideas and participate in the cultural debate of one of the most interesting and exciting eras of Italian and European history.

Worlds/Stage:Intro/PerformStud

This course looks at performance in theatrical and non-theatrical settings, asking how we express ourselves, how we take action, and how we watch others doing the same. Students will develop critical tools for analyzing live and televised events, practice close readings of texts and performance objects, and rehearse their own verbal presentation performances. We will look at a variety of objects for study from around the globe, including playscripts, recordings of speeches and performances, political rallies, and performances in the theater and in everyday life.

Marketing Research

Introduces primary and secondary data collection and analysis as a means to assess consumer behavior and develop effective marketing strategies; incorporates the use of technology in data collection and analysis. Prerequisites: MARKETNG 301; STATISTC 140 or 141 or RES-ECON 211 or 212.
