This course will introduce students to the study of international environmental politics. It will review the nature of global environmental threats, and the history of collective responses to these problems, looking particular at the contributions of governments, international organizations, NGOs, the private sector and the scientific community to broader international environmental governance.

S-Modern Arab Poli Thought

This course explores revolutionary politics in the Arab world through examining the history of ideas that have animated Arab society since the mid 19th century, through colonial and postcolonial times, and up until the present. Besides the various social, economic, and political reasons for the Arab uprisings (which you may have learned about in other courses), this course argues that the way Arab thinkers, political leaders, and activists have theorized political change is important to gaining a better understanding of contemporary Arab politics.

Public Opinion in Politics

This course explores the landscape of opinion on a variety of political topics to develop an understanding about how the public thinks about issues and why they think the way they do. It also examines how peoples' opinions influence their behavior, and whether or not political leaders follow the "will of the public" or manipulate public opinion to achieve their own aims.
