This course provides a structured context for students to reflect on their own learning in their GenEd courses. It utilizes social and behavioral sciences - as well as natural and applied sciences, the humanities, law, and even the arts from time to time ? to practice constitutive socio-legal inquiry, and applies this theory to multiple real world settings. We are going to use the ?angle? of sight as our vehicle for attempting to gain a better understanding of the way that law shapes our realities ? and in turn how those set the parameters for law. Simply, what we see around us ?

An introduction to basic concepts about globalization and its impact on workers in the U.S. and internationally, focusing on the impacts of recent trends in economic and political globalization on workers in the U.S. and abroad. Introduction to the principles and practices of union organizing. Topics include theories of organizing, internal and external organizing, and a case analysis of current organizing campaigns.

Introduction to federal law governing labor unions, the right to organize, and collective bargaining. Topics include historical examination of labor law in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the operation of the National Labor Relations Board, and the National Labor Relations Act.

Classical actor techniques in Shakespearean performance. Students learn the lost art of verse speaking. Performance is placed against the vibrant backdrop of Elizabethan London and its exciting theatre scene.
