Intro Comp In Fine Art

Historical overview of the development of computer art and the significant events leading to the development of the field. Projects include hands-on experience with computer imaging for use in the creation of fine art. Prerequisite: completion of foundation courses or consent of instructor.

Painting V

Studio. Emphasis on cultivation of an individual painting vocabulary based upon development of themes derived from personal experience. Includes related contemporary and historical issues. Individual and group critiques used to develop continuity of work. Satisfies the Integrative Experience requirement for BA-Art majors. Materials: unspecified. Prerequisite: ART 320 or consent of instructor.

Painting-Aqueous Med

Basic practice and theory of painting developed through the study of traditional and contemporary procedures used in the development of pictorial form. Emphasis on still life, landscape and the human figure. Materials: oil and aqueous media.

Painting II: Representation II

Studio. Basic practice and theory of painting developed through the study of traditional and contemporary procedures used in the development of pictorial form. Emphasis on still life, landscape, and the human figure. Materials: oil and/or aqueous media. Prerequisite: foundation courses; for non-majors, ART 104.

Sculpture 1-Intro to Sculpture

An introduction to a range of basic sculptural processes and materials with an emphasis on formal investigation and intellectual query. Projects cover basic sculptural principles and hand skills with an emphasis on working from observation. This course will introduce basic additive and reductive processes including wood, metal and clay/plaster. Prerequisite: Foundation w/3d component.

Computer Animation II

The second of a two semester sequence. Animation techniques using digital tools as applied to film, video, music and tehcnology. Animation software (Maya) and professional compositing programs are used. Development and design of personal work is stressed. Emphasis is on creativitiy and professionalism. Studio course.
