Sport & The Law

The law as it applies to professional and amateur sport organizations. In-depth analysis of contract law, tort law, constitutional law, administrative law, antitrust law, labor law, collective bargaining, and arbitration as it relates to sport. How to identify, analyze and understand legal issues, and the ramifications of those issues. Introduction to the case method of training in problem solving, the method upon which law is based. Each student makes at least one class presentation on current legal issues.

Sport Finance&Busins

Analysis of the financial and economic issues related to the operation of public and private sport organizations. Exploration of specific areas of student interest through development of comprehensive business plans. Specific topics include: structure of sport industry; determinants of profitability; forms of ownership, tax-ation, financing, and economic impact studies. Mr. DeSchriver
