ST- Intro Latin Amer. Society

This class will use sociological concepts to explore the diverse cultures, societies and politics of the Latin American and Caribbean region. Themes covered will include: colonialism and neocolonialism; class and inequality; race, ethnicity and identity; gender and sexuality; religion, social control and change; art, music and dance; revolutions and social movements; globalization and migrations.

Law and Economics

In this course, we will look at the legal system as an economic system, where penalties and damages act as prices for various activities. We will ask whether the enforcement of legal rules leads to an efficient allocation of resources. Much of the focus of the course will be on property, contract and tort law. Satisfies the Integrative Experience requirement for BA-Econ majors.

S-Professional Pract

Models of professional office structure: management, organizational behavior, and economics. Guest professionals give insights into the profession and how an office should be managed. Topics include: ethics, contracts, compensation, specifications, contract management, marketing, budgets, and cost analysis.
