Spain's history and identity; the role of the church, women, and social classes. Use of literary and non-literary texts, and videos. Historical periods covered depend on the instructor and/or semester. Prerequisite: SPANISH 320 or 321 or 322 or 323, or consent of instructor.

Spanish Phonetics

Language laboratory included. Sound system of Spanish, improvement of pronunciation, preparation in phonetics for future teachers. Readings on Spanish phonetics. Language lab work with videos and audio-cassettes. Prerequisite: SPANISH 240 or consent of instructor.
