Modern Physics I

Fourth term of introductory Physics sequence. Survey of discoveries in physics in the 20th century; special relativity, prelude to quantum theory, principles of quantum mechanics with application to problems in one dimension. PHYSICS 284 and 424 constitute a full-year course in modern physics. Prerequisites: PHYSICS 181, 182, , or consent of instructor, MATH 233.

Tech Theortcl Phys

The application of mathematical methods to problems in theoretical physics. A wide variety of techniques employing calculus. Introduction to complex numbers, matrices, vector calculus, Fourier series, and differential equations. Prerequisites: any introductory physics sequence; MATH 233, or consent of instructor.
