Elementary French II

A second-semester elementary French course: a continuation of FRENCHST 110 with emphasis on acquiring basic level of proficiency in the language and understanding of the culture of France and the Francophone world. Prerequisite: FRENCHST 110, one semester of college French, or two years of high school French. Freshmen with senior year high school French with a grade of A or B are encouraged to enroll in FRENCHST 120 rather than 110.

Swahili VI

Swahili VI is the second part of a two-part intermediate course sequence in Swahili (Kiswahili). The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and to support course work in African studies. Prerequisite: Swahili V or the equivalent.

SI-Vietnamese IV

Vietnamese IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Vietnamese. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Vietnamese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Vietnam and to support course work in Asian Studies.
