A second-semester elementary French course: a continuation of FRENCHST 110 with emphasis on acquiring basic level of proficiency in the language and understanding of the culture of France and the Francophone world. Swahili VI is the second part of a two-part intermediate course sequence in Swahili (Kiswahili). The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and to support course work in African studies. Prerequisite: Swahili V or the equivalent.

Students studying Vietnamese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Vietnam and to support course work in Asian Studies.
