Specialized topics in historical and systematic musicology. May be repeated for credit with varying content as advised.
S- All-University Orchestra
This ensemble provides all University members an opportunity to perform in a non-competitive atmosphere and achieve success according to one's individual goals. Students will be required to practice before each rehearsal. One performance will be given each semester. Attendance is mandatory. An audition is required.

Conductors' Chorus Lab
The Choral Conducting program at UMass Amherst is designed to offer students increasing experience with the technical and expressive skills that conducting demands. This course will cover the practice and exploration of gestural communication as applied to choral music. The course will equip students with advanced conducting techniques, analytical skills, and rehearsal methods necessary to become successful ensemble conductors.
Conductors' Chorus
This course is a laboratory chorus that provides conducting pedagogy experiences for graduate Choral Conducting students and undergraduate conductors, and chamber vocal ensemble experience for singers.
