Time Literacy

This course explores time literacy, a re-imagining of time management that seeks to interweave one?s one needs and ways of thinking together with academic progress over the semester. The course involves identifying an appropriate way to record and structure information about assignments and exams, developing routines that work for you as an individual, and evaluating progress along the way.

IS-SocialEntreprenuerLaunchpad

Social Entrepreneurship Launchpad offers a team-based opportunity to students who have successfully completed COMPSCI 420 (previously COMPSCI 490S) and are committed to launching marketable products that contribute to the common good. Teams will be mentored by CICS Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIRs) and UMass alumni. Teams test the commercial potential of their product ideas and receive mentoring and guidance from EIRs and industry partners to secure funding, build a marketing plan, and consolidate a customer base. This course does not count as either a CS or INFORM Elective.

ST-Topics/Advanced Turkish III

Topics in Advanced Turkish III focuses on developing advanced reading and speaking skills, expanding vocabulary, and improving the ability to describe/narrate in detail and support opinions. Topics are chosen in consultation with the program director. Students studying Turkish develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Turkey and to support course work in Middle Eastern Studies.
