Insect Aesthetics

Insect Aesthetics: Diversity, Ecology, and Evolution: Hyper-diverse, ecologically dominant, morphologically elaborate- no other animal on Earth rivals the significance of insects. Not only are insects an ideal lens for exploring principles of evolution, ecology, sustainability, and animal behavior, they also are a means through which we can critically examine conceptions of the human and the natural in the broadest sense.

Writing About Food

Food is so much of who we are. It is a basic function of staying alive, but it is also tethered to so many things that are beyond the basic and in fact can be quite sumptuous and decadent. Much can be discerned about ourselves and our priorities, our beliefs, our past, and our future, by studying how and what we eat. Where does our relationship to food become more than a basic function? How are these basic tenets of food and food culture capitalized upon and shaped by marketers and corporations?

Graph Theory

A graph is a collection of points with edges drawn between them. Graph theory was first introduced by Leonhard Euler in his solution to the Königsberg bridge problem in 1736. Since then, graph theory has become an active area of study in mathematics due both to its wide array of real life applications in biology, chemistry, social sciences and computer networking, and to its interactions with other branches of mathematics.
