The development of competencies in community-based care of clients in need of psychiatric mental health nursing services with the goal of promoting optimal mental health. Concurrent with NURSING 327. Prerequisite: successful completion of all Level I requirements.

Students will meet with instructor in small group setting with the class instructor on a weekly basis to discuss related topics of interest, including but not limited to: Internet privacy, network neutrality, network source code implementation.

The scope of biomedical engineering design and development encompasses a wide variety of scientific and engineering fields. This is a project based course utilizing fundamental concepts involved in biomaterials, biomechanics, bioinstrumentation to solve biomedical engineering problems. This course provides the tools for analyzing and understanding poverty, inequality and well-being. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the main approaches to poverty, inequality and well-being will be critically presented and discussed: from the conventional monetary view to multidimensional approaches. The course also introduces students to sources of data, indicators and current empirical evidence regarding both global and national poverty and inequality, including a focus on the USA.

Japan has become a phenomenally successful exporter of pop culture. One face of this is Manga (graphic novels) and Anime (Japanese animations). This course will give students tools to understand Manga and Anime. We will investigate the role Manga and Anime play in Japan; we will track how the different industries shape narratives in different ways; we will examine ways that Manga and Anime flow from one place to another. The course is conducted entirely in English. (Gen. Ed. AT, DG)

This course brings together students and community members who are currently engaged in activist and organizing work. Students will learn tools/skills for organizing, while centering relationships and solidarity as the foundation of social justice.

This course is designed to introduce students to social, cultural, historical, and political perspectives on gender and its construction. Through discussion and writing, we will explore the intersections among gender, race, class, and sexuality in multiple settings and contexts. Taking an interdisciplinary approach to a variety of questions, we will consider the distinctions between sex and gender, women's economic status, the making of masculinity, sexual violence, queer movements, racism, and the challenges of feminist activism across nations, and possibilities for change.
