In this course, you will explore a variety of digital tools and apps that can enhance teaching and learning. You will discover how to find digital tools and apps by cultivating a digitally enhanced professional learning network. You will learn how to critically evaluate digital tools and apps in order to make informed decisions about which tools to use in educational settings, and you will learn how to design innovative, inclusive, and accessible learning experiences with digital tools and apps.

Some of the topics that will be addressed are problem-finding strategies, types of educational research, quantitative and qualitative methodologies in education, and ethical principles in research. Writing for Educ & HumDev Mjrs

This is a writing-intensive course that fulfills the University's Junior Writing requirement. The course will provide students with an opportunity to explore critical perspectives of early childhood education and serve as an introduction to the profession. Through the writing assignments, students will become acquainted with and practice writing required by professional teachers.

Intro to Special Educ hons

This course focuses on the foundations of special education and is designed to introduce students to the field of teaching exceptional children. It will develop students? understanding of disability with a focus on characteristics, functional and academic implications, and services and programs to help meet the educational, social, and/or personal goals for students with disabilities. We also highlight the experiences of individuals with disabilities and their families by inviting guest speakers to our class.

In the digital era, technology is everywhere, smart devices are talking to one another, virtual reality can transport students across the world, social media is spreading information (fake and real) at a rapid pace, YouTube is the go-to tool for informal learning, and anyone, anywhere can create or remix multimedia. This project-based course focuses on how technology provides new affordances for, and ways of thinking about, teaching and learning. In this course, you will examine how technology mediates and influences teaching and learning in and across formal and informal contexts.
