Work Mid/HS Teachers

Civility related. The course is the introductory course in the Secondary Teacher Education Program and is required for licensure. It is field based and requires observation in the schools. The course encourages the examination of the actual work of teachers in its social and organizational context and the goals of students preparing to teach.

Foundations/CompEngineering

This course will teach students basic experimental methodologies in electrical and computer engineering required by graduate students. The course will involve hands-on experimentation and lectures which train students in these areas. A student completing the course will be prepared to complete advanced graduate courses in electrical and computer engineering.

Honors Research

The Commonwealth Honors College thesis or project is intended to provide students with the opportunity to work closely with faculty members to define and carry out in-depth research or creative endeavors. It provides excellent preparation for students who intend to continue their education through graduate study or begin their professional careers. The student works closely with their 499Y Honors Research sponsor to pursue research on a topic or question of special interest to them in preparation for writing a 499T Honors Thesis or completing a 499P Honors Project.

BIPOC Children

This course examines the history of BIPOC children, crime, and punishment in the United States. We survey historical and contemporary examples of the criminalization of indigenous, Black, Latinx, South Asian American, and immigrant children since the late-nineteenth century. Students have the opportunity to pursue a research project about BIPOC childhoods and punitive governance.

Limited to 15 students.  Fall semester.  Professor del Moral.
