Economic & Financial Analysis

This course integrates foundational micro- and macro-economic concepts with the core principles of corporate finance and financial markets. Students learn how markets, incentives, and policy shape financial decisions inside firms and how financial tools quantify those decisions. We move from the principles of scarcity and equilibrium to capital budgeting, risk, and valuation?always linking economic reasoning to financial outcomes.

Honors Thesis Seminar

In this course, students integrate concepts across disciplines, develop concepts of business strategy and leadership, and develop as well a working understanding of how such concepts manifest themselves in practice. The course emphasizes integration of all learning experiences in college and it encourages practice through hands-on learning.

Marketing Analytics Using R

In the digital age, the ability to analyze and interpret marketing data has become essential for success. This course is designed to equip students with the skills needed to harness the power of data in making strategic marketing decisions. Through a blend of theoretical concepts and hands-on practice, students will learn how to clean, analyze, and visualize marketing data from real world datasets. Students will acquire knowledge about the methods and software that are used to understand issues such as market segmentation, sales forecasting, and conjoint analysis.

Topics/International Relations

Advanced topics in international relations. Possible topics: historical and philosophical foundations of the state-system, post-1945 changes in the state-system, alternative levels of political analysis, recurring sources of conflict, instruments of national power, the role of international regimes and other institutions. POLISCI 121, 255 recommended.

Democracy & Political Reform

Americans have tried throughout US history to reform and perfect our political system. But despite some notable achievements, dissatisfaction with the federal and state governments especially is widespread. Have our expectations simply shifted upward over the centuries, or are there serious structural flaws in the US political system? What would you propose in order to improve American politics?

Intro/MEMS & Microbots

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles, fabrication technologies, modeling, and analysis of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). Core topics include microfabrication processes, MEMS materials, microscale sensing and actuation mechanisms, and analytical and numerical modeling techniques relevant to small-scale systems. The course further introduces microrobotics, which studies robotic systems at the micron scale capable of interacting with and manipulating microscale objects.
