Computer Networking

This course provides an introduction to fundamental concepts in computer networks, including their design and implementation. Topics covered include the Web and multimedia applications, transport protocols (providing reliability and congestion control), routing, and link access. Special attention is also paid to wireless networks, multimedia content delivery, and security. Homework assignments involve distributed systems, and written tasks. Lab assignments include socket programming and examining Internet traffic data captured through Wireshark.

Junior Design Project

In this course students will: 1) work in small design teams to solve a well-defined ECE problem and then, 2) undertake more practical open-ended engineering problem. The well-defined ECE design project will be chosen from a list of available projects that span the department?s core electrical engineering and computer engineering sub-disciplines.

ST-Design Project

This course is part of the ECE department's DP123 initiative: Design Projects for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Year ECE Students. It enables ECE students to design and build hardware and software systems before the senior design project (SDP). Most of the projects are team-based. The projects are guided from concept to final design by the course instructors as well as by ECE seniors acting as project mentors (enrolled in E&C-ENG 497DP). DP123 projects are built in M5, the academic makerspace for ECE undergraduates.

Hnr Indstu In Ece

This is a stand-alone independent study designed by the student and faculty sponsor that involves frequent interaction between instructor and student. Qualitative and quantitative enrichment must be evident on the proposed contract before consent is given to undertake the study.
