Introduction to Classical Archaeology will examine the material history of the Archaic and Classical Periods of Greece and the Archaic through Imperial periods of Italy and it's empire. The course will contribute to the overall goal of making research in computing more accessible to students from historically underrepresented groups in computer science. To that end, the workshop topics will include a combination of practical, social, and research-related topics. Examples of those topics include cultivating curiosity, building confidence and combatting imposter syndrome, summarizing findings, visualizing data, forming hypotheses, applications in computing, and developing collaboration strategies.
