ST- Multicultural Literatures

Course taught in Italian. During the Great Migration of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, millions of Italians, largely from the southern parts of the country, emigrated from Italy to the United States and South America. Many also migrated to the North of the peninsula. Decades later, Italy has transformed from a place of departure to an arrival destination for those migrating from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. As the population of Italy has changed, so has its art and those who create it.
