ST- Dutch II

Dutch II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Dutch. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Dutch develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Netherlands and to support course work in European Studies.

ST-Burmese V

Burmese V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Burmese. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Burmese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Myanmar (Burma) and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.

ST-Adv Hindi & Urdu for Health

Advanced Hindi and Urdu for Health and Human Services. A course for advanced speakers of either Hindi or Urdu. The course will be based on videos from "Language for Health: The Practice of Medicine in Hindi and Urdu". The goal is to develop vocabulary and cultural knowledge needed to have conversations about health and human well-being in Hindi and Urdu speaking contexts. Course materials include a diversity of speakers using various styles of Hindi and Urdu. This course is part of the Five College Mentored Hindi and Urdu Program.

ST- Topics in Advanced Urdu I

Topics in Advanced Urdu I focuses on developing advanced reading and speaking skills, expanding vocabulary, and improving the ability to describe/narrate in detail and support opinions. Topics are chosen in consultation with the program director. Students studying Urdu develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Pakistan or India and to support course work in South Asian Studies.
