Practice in use of simple surveying instruments such as tapes, compasses, and levels for measurement of land surfaces. Methods of grading and graphic representations of landform (contours and profiles) explored.
This course offers instruction in the techniques and tools of landscape representation for landscape architects. The emphasis is on hand drawing and basic drafting.
Landscape patterns resulting from interactions of biotic, abiotic, and cultural resources and processes over time. Understanding these dynamics as a prerequisite to appropriate planning and design interventions.
Allows a student to work on an actual or demonstration project to explore aspects of landscape planning, design or processes related to landscape architecture.
