Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Spkrs II

Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Speakers II is for advanced speakers of Hindi or Urdu who want to learn to read and write in Hindi. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes individual tutorials. The course continues the review of Hindi grammar and structure started in Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Speakers I. By the end of the course, students should be able to read in Hindi and be able to compose simple texts such as dialogues and paragraphs in Hindi.

Urdu for Urdu-Hindi Spkrs II

Romanian IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Romanian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Romanian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Romania or the Republic of Moldova and to support course work in European Studies.

Modern Greek V is the first part of a four-part intermediate-level course sequence in Modern Greek. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Greek develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Greece and to support course work in European Studies.

Zulu III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Zulu. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Zulu develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in South Africa and to support course work in African Studies.

ST-Turkish VI

Turkish VI is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Turkish I-V or the equivalent. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Turkish develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Turkey and to support course work in Middle Eastern Studies.

ST-Hindi VIII

Students studying Hindi develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in India and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

S-I Yoruba II

Yoruba II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Yoruba. Yoruba is one of the primary languages of Nigeria and also spoken in diaspora communities in Brazil and the Caribbean. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Yoruba develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in West Africa and to support course work in African and African-Caribbean studies.
