This course is meant for those looking for practical legal knowledge for use in Internet related endeavors. This course provides basic legal knowledge for Internet related legal issues with a focus on practical information for use by computer professionals. Topics covered are basics of the internet, basics of law and contract law, substantive laws, intellectual property law, basic ethical dealings, dealing with third parties, and policy issues.

Study architectural techniques for efficient hardware design for machine learning (ML) systems including training and inference. Course has three parts. First part deals with ML algorithms: regression, support vector machines, decision tree, and naive Bayes approaches. Second part deals with convolutional and deep neural network models.

SBS in the World is an Internship Practicum designed to support SBS sophomores, juniors, and seniors engaging in virtual or in-person internships. Nearly 70% of Americans are obese or overweight. The distribution of the epidemic correlates strongly with poverty and access to high quality food. Students in this class will engage in directed literature research and discussion. Topics will start by examining risks factors for obesity including genetic, macro genetic/microbiome, societal (commercial, race, poverty). The goal of this course is to examine the obesity pandemic using a multidisciplinary approach with the aim of identifying any evidence for effective approaches to changing obesity rates.
