Offshore wind farms are engineering projects, and it is vital for all professionals who work in the wind energy industry to have an understanding of the underlying science and technology which drive the siting of offshore wind farms, how these projects are integrated into the electric grid, and trends in technology advances and market development.

The Syrian conflict is widely regarded as one of the largest humanitarian catastrophes since World War II. This course will examine modern Syria up to and through the conflict to enable students to understand the conflict roots, dynamics and potential outcomes, as well as its regional and global dimensions. The first half of the course will focus on the country's state formation since the early 20th century and through the onset of the conflict with a focus on politics, ideology, culture and political economy.

This course is an introduction to the politics of heritage. Heritage sites, monuments and museums are frequently sites of controversy as various groups with different and often conflicting experiences contest interpretations of the past. We will focus on the major themes, ideas and debates shaping the theoretical and methodological frameworks for studying heritage. We will critically examine the ways in which the slave trade, slavery, colonialism, nationalism, apartheid, conflict and independence impact heritage.

This course is meant to serve as a general introduction to some of the world?s most complex and influential civilizations. The course surveys pre-modern political and social history, classical philosophical writings, and poetic, literary, and artistic traditions of East Asia and India through Confucianism, Daoism, Buddhism, and Hinduism.

Techniques of calculus in two and three dimensions, including vectors, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, line integrals, surface integrals and Green's, Stokes's, and the Divergence Theorem.

A 'Dream Team' of Top International Security scholars will take turns providing weekly online lectures in their areas of expertise, followed by a weekly Q&A session with these experts in the field. Topics will include peacekeeping, war statistics, the protection of civilians, the war on terror, military coups, battlefield performance, artificial intelligence and war, public opinion and foreign policy, leadership and war, women and political violence and other topics. Grading will consist of weekly online quizzes.
