Appl Resrch Methods/Srvc Mgmt1

This course is a two-part honors seminar that occurs over the course of the academic year and students must complete both to use the completion of this seminar to fulfill the honors research /thesis or project requirement. The first part of the honors seminar in fall semester is designed to introduce the methods and approaches utilized to conduct research. In the spring semester, the students who successfully completed the first part of the honors seminar will carry out the proposed research projects under the supervision of the faculty member teaching the seminar.

Corporate Finance

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the area of corporate finance and investments. Students will learn about the basic concerns and responsibilities of financial managers, and gain an appreciation of the methods of analysis employed by them. Students will learn both theory and practice of corporate finance and investments.

Organizational Strategy

Capstone course requiring application of knowledge and techniques derived from previous courses. Course presents strategic management theories and frameworks, uses integrative cases, and leverages empirical observations to guide students in the formulation of successful firm-level strategies.

Advanced Investments

This course will cover contemporary investment strategies, with an emphasis on real-world relevance. The theme of the course will vary depending on instructor interest and expertise. Major topics: fundamental analysis, market efficiency, and computer age investing.

Fixed Income

This course explores key issues in fixed income markets. It develops tools for valuing and modeling the risk exposures of fixed income securities and their derivatives.

Data Mgmt/Business Leaders

This course teaches students how to maximize spreadsheets as a data management tool using advanced functions and formulas. Students will learn how to efficiently manipulate, format, and automate data, and use spreadsheets to build customized reports, dashboards, amazing charts, pivot tables and macros. This course is applicable to all business disciplines. Prerequisites: basic spreadsheet knowledge.
