Theatrical Frontiers:Live Perf

This course explores the art of contemporary theater and the power of live performance through a series of shows the students attend in person, along with theater projects they create in a group. Through engagement with both longstanding and new ways of making theater, students will gain exposure to how live theater is being made in the world today -- an exciting moment of new frontiers and forms. Statistics in Psychology

Basic conceptual knowledge of statistical reasoning, skill in applying common statistical techniques. Topics include probability; measures of central tendency, variability, and correlation; and statistical inference involving one- and two-group means. (Gen.Ed. R2)

The roles and responsibilities of today's PR practitioners are expanding. PR Professionals must understand and embrace how to integrate social media communications with overall business communications, learn different ways to engage with customers and other stakeholders and navigate a changing media landscape with new technology that drives consumer news consumption. This course examines the role of today's communicators who are developing new strategic approaches to the practice of PR.

ST- Preservation: On Color

For this seminar, we investigate the use (or disuse) of color in architecture, from antiquity to the present. Proceeding chronologically, we begin with classical theories of color perception and meaning. To follow, we consider color's new connotations from the naturalism of the Renaissance and Newton's Optiks of the early-modern period. Through the Enlightenment, we witness color's diminution in the face of neo-classicism--only to partake in its complicated return during the "rediscovery" of ancient polychromy.

ST-Spatial Data Analysis in R

Spatial data provides an extra layer of information that provides an opportunity to gain powerful insights from our data. Analysis of spatial data also poses unique challenges and pitfalls. In this course, students will learn a range of techniques for analyzing data with spatial information, from both a theoretical standpoint as well as implementation of methods in R.

EnginLdrshp&Entrepreneurshp

This course prepares engineers to be leaders in organizations of varying size by simulating the planning, decision-making, and communication needed to take an idea from germination to execution and delivery, scaling a team from a few people to a ~200 person organization. You will be the VP of Engineering of your own startup where you will pitch an idea, develop it, plan the resources needed to deliver it, hire a team, and manage the organization.

ST-Advanced Writing Workshop

This course reinforces the students' skills in argumentative writing. It focuses on textual analysis and writing practice in Italian. Students will read a variety of modern texts, from magazine articles to novellas, in order to become familiar with the structures of content / expression of Italian prose.
