Nowadays, wireless technologies (such as 802.11 Wi-Fi) do not only provide data service but also cater to diverse applications including indoor localization, contactless activity sensing, medical implant tracking and charging, virtual reality (VR) and autonomous cars etc. This course introduces the students with fundamentals in wireless networking and also the state-of-the-art sensing applications in the Era of Internet-Of-Things.

S-American Politics/Music

This course uses popular music - rock, hip hop, blues, country, jazz, and other genres - as a entryway to analysis of major themes in American politics, including American culture and values, patriotism, race relations and immigration, civil rights and liberties, and war and peace. It takes the view that popular music, in addition to being a form of entertainment, often offers incisive commentary on the state of American politics.

S-Review of the Literature

In this course we will talk about what makes a good review for different purposes, how to conduct a rigorous and systematic review, how to analyze and synthesize research studies and how to write a coherent and compelling review. We will read about and talk through some of the ethical considerations involved in the process of writing and publishing a review. Another objective will be to help students prepare for the literature reviews that are part of their comprehensive exams, research proposals and dissertations.
