P- Note Takers Practicum

Many theories and pedagogies have shaped how literacy is enacted in education. The central goal of this course is to understand theoretical, methodological, and pedagogical implications and challenges of cognitive-psychological, psycholinguistic, sociocultural, and sociopolitical perspectives of literacy and education.

This course focuses upon how researchers design, organize, and execute educational research using large secondary survey research databases, and how they document their findings for various audiences.
Educ Web Design: Creatn & Eval
This course will investigate the design of web resources for educational purposes. It will explore the tools and procedures required to design, build, and implement a Web site. Prerequisite: Experience surfing the Web, using email, and using word processing applications.
ST- School to Prison Pipeline
This course exposes undergraduate students to the complex systems that connect schools and juvenile and adult prisons, with a particular emphasis on the links between diversity and incarceration.

Doctoral level seminar is designed to examine a range of sociocultural theoretical perspectives on the study of language. Goals will be to develop familiarity with several perspectives, to consider their similarities and differences and their usefulness in researching language in educational settings, and to practice applying one or more in the analysis of language data.
