Public Transportation Systems

A historical overview of public transportation and a summary of existing and future transit and paratransit systems and technologies; application of intelligent transportation system (ITS) technologies (including advanced communication, sensor, and information processing technologies) in the implementation of transit and paratransit operations; public transit systems costs, demand, pricing, and performance evaluation; project planning including routing, scheduling, preliminary design and ownership and organizational options; and systems planning.

Exp Methods/EnvironmentalEngin

Laboratory, field and computational experiments are completed to illustrate key concepts, measurement techniques and standard operating procedures in environmental engineering, as used by engineers. Both theory and application of field and laboratory methods for water, air and soil properties analysis will be explored, particularly for environmental processes in both natural and engineered systems. There will be an emphasis on data analysis, report and memo writing, and oral communication of results.
