Models,Data & Inference/EnvEng
This course explores the integration of mathematical modeling, data analysis, and statistical inference within the context of environmental engineering. Students will learn to develop and apply models to understand and predict environmental systems, analyze environmental data using advanced statistical techniques, and draw robust inferences to support engineering decisions. Topics include probabilistic modeling, data assimilation, uncertainty quantification, and the application of machine learning methods to environmental datasets.
Master's Project
Research carried out and reported under supervision of student's adviser as partial fulfillment of requirements for Master's degree in civil engineering or Master's degree in environmental engineering. May not be taken by those taking CE-ENGIN 679 Engineering Report or CE-ENGIN 699 Master's Thesis.
Piloting UAVs
This course is intended to introduce students to the basics of flying and operating unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) multirotor aircraft safely and reliably. This course assumes no prior knowledge of UAV?s or prior flying experience. This course is primarily focused on guiding students as they develop practical flying skills, but will also cover basic information on multirotor function, diagnostics, and maintenance. Preflight procedures are a key part of flying safely and will be covered. Most class time will be dedicated to providing flying practice for students.
