This seminar will cover topics in quantum information science, including both classical ones such as quantum key distribution and Grover?s algorithm, and the emerging area of quantum machine learning.

This course provides an introduction to Modern and Contemporary art in Latin America, including artists, works, and artistic movements from Mexico, Central America, and South America, as well as artists from Latin America who worked in the United States, Europe, or elsewhere. The course will also include consideration of related artists and artistic movements in the United States, including Chicano arts, art and murals by Puerto Rican and other Caribbean artists, and Southwestern traditional arts. Course will be taught in English.

This course surveys the current state of the electricity infrastructure in developing countries as well as the challenges and technology trends that are shaping the evolution of these systems. Concepts include infrastructure components, electricity access initiatives, measurement of electricity reliability and power quality, and the relationship between electricity and international development. Students will gain insight into contemporary engineering challenges in improving the scope and quality of electricity service in developing contexts.

In this course, we will create several interdisciplinary teams of students who will work together over the semester to address problems from a specific nearby public water system (i.e., the "study site" or "field site"). The study site(s) will be selected by the course instructors in consultation with the New England state water administrators. Each of the instructors will present background on public water supplies from the perspective of their academic disciplines.

Students will use linear and machine learning methods to analyze predictability
of computer performance from traces of program executions. Requires previous background in machine learning.

Assisting high school students in learning computer programming in the context of a high school course. The language of instruction will be Java or Python. Students taking this independent study will be expected to work under the direct supervision of the high school computer science teacher at a local high school. Students are expected to attend classes weekly for approximately one hour. Course evaluation will be performed by the high school teacher in cooperation with the supervising faculty member, and a final written report will be required.
