Trans* Ident. & Communities

This course will investigate knowledge/cultural production produced by trans* communities, particularly those multiply impacted by categories of race, gender, sexuality, class, ability, citizenship and location. To understand the critical feminist genealogy/insurgency in which transgender studies/activism have become a field/site of political discourse, we will explore the overlaps and tensions between women/queer/trans* of color activism and theory.

Intro Physics II

Basic principles of physics illustrated by example and demonstration, whenever possible, from the biological sciences. Topics: electricity, magnetism, radiation, optics, relativity, quantum theory, atomic structure, nuclear physics. Prerequisite: PHYSICS 131/133 or equivalent. (Gen.Ed. PS)

ST-Social & Envir Enterprises

This course examines legal structures that social and environmental enterprises currently used to accomplish their missions?nonprofit organizations, traditional for-profits, L3Cs, B Corporations, cooperatives and other business forms that place ?Planet? and ?People? ahead of or on an equal footing with ?Profit.? The course contemplates the advantages and disadvantages of using these forms to accomplish these missions, how they should be adopted or modified, and whether society should devise other structures to further these missions.
