This course will give the students a clear understanding of how to set up and operate successful systems for crop planning for a diversified vegetable farm. All aspects from system design, data entry, mapping, scheduling, to record keeping will be addressed. Students will walk away with a very usable system for crop planning on a diversified vegetable farm plan.

Int Equitation I

Lab. The balance seat positions at all basic paces with and without stirrups. Jumping skills developed over low fences and gymnastics. Basic school figures and theory as it pertains to horsemanship, dressage, and combined training. Prerequisite: previous formal instruction.

Mycology

Biology, ecology, classification and identification of fungi and fungal-like organisms. Includes consideration of fungi as causes of diseases in animals, humans, and plants, and their uses in biotechnology applications.

Nursery Management

With lab. Cultural practices of field and container production; how these practices and environmental factors influence nursery crop growth and development. Topics include: site selection, planting and spacing, mineral nutrition, harvesting, irrigation practices, pest management, and overwintering. Basic economic management of nursery crops production and marketing reviewed. Prerequisites: PLNTSOIL 105; ENVIRDES 335 highly recommended.
