Advanced Drawing Problems

Anti-User Experience

This class approaches human-computer interaction from the perspective of contemporary artists who are misusing, appropriating, and breaking the conventions of user experience and user interface (UX/UI) design. Starting from the assumption that no technological standard is neutral, students will examine the work of practitioners who shed light on the human construction of everyday digital tools and processes by working against the norms built into them.

Portfolio Practicum

This practicum is geared towards students interested in preparing effective job search tools, resumes and digital portfolios of creative work. Students who have previously taken an internship in design or creative fields develop a presentation that includes work samples from the internship experience. Additionally, this course includes guest speakers from the university, local organizations, and creative industry geared towards students' exposure to the professional workplace for artists, makers, creative technologists, and designers.
